BURIANO: is located close to a considerable many of well known Italian
cultural and artistic places, such as
Orvieto,
Bolsena lake,
Todi,
Perugia,
Assisi,
Rome,
Florence and
Siena. This particular location in the heart of Italy
makes
Buriano an ideal location for one day trips to art and cultural cities as well
as to relaxing and fun areas for evening entertainment.
The small chapel of Santa Maria Assunta, dating back to the Benedictine period
(the year 1302), is open to visitors during all the year.

ETRUSCHI:
Buriano lies in the heart of
Etruscan zone and is part of Grosseto county. Not far from
Buriano you can visit:
Vetulonia, it is an ancient
etrurian town, which gave Rome the symbols of the lictorian fasces and
the axe.
Vetulonia reached the top between the VII and the VI century
B.C. and conserves now many old memories of his ancient power.
Roselle,
is located on a hill on the vast plain stretching from
Grosseto toward
the interior. Reconstructed from the Middle Ages onwards, its remains
retain the untainted charme of pureness. The hill is dominated by a
well-preserved wall encircling the only sign of the present times, a
single farm surrounded by corn fields and pasture land. Particulary
interesting. especially for experts are the ruins of houses of raw
bricks, sun-dried clay loaves placed one on the other with groutdiluted
clay, that recall the building methods of the East |
NATURALISTIC ROUTES: Many natural parks are
reachable from Buriano. The closest is
Diaccia Botrona, a unique wet
area in Italy. The old lake of
Prile turned now into a swamp (PALUDE).
Very nice point of view are the island of
Clodia only 5 Km. from
Buriano
and the hous of Ximenes close to
Castiglione. Another nice park is the
"PARCO REGIONALE DELLA MAREMMA" close to
Alberese. Do not forget the see
park of Arcipelago with the perl of the
Giglio island. |
